Grants are considered gift aid and do not require repayment. Students are automatically considered for federal grants when submitting the FAFSA (Free Application for Federal Financial Aid).

Federal Grants

Federal Pell Grant

Federal Pell Grants are awarded to undergraduate students who have exceptional financial need. These need-based grants are the main source of free federal money for college students and are awarded to all undergraduate students who qualify. The amount a student can receive is determined by a student’s FAFSA and enrollment status. Pell-grant eligible students who have a Title IV credit balance refund at the beginning of each semester will receive their refund within seven days in order to obtain necessary books and supplies.

Federal Supplemental Educational Opportunity Grant (FSEOG)

The FSEOG helps students who demonstrate exceptional financial need. Priority is given to Federal Pell Grant recipients. FSEOG is awarded on a first-come, first-served basis, so students are encouraged to complete the FAFSA early.
